Has anyone tried to figure out a way to get the USB cable from inside the center console storage area, into the cup holder area? Seems like a no-brainer that Volvo would have provided a simple pass-through. Is under the center tunnel an option?

I bought an USB flat cable.
I'm not sure where you mean? Is the path over the tunnel into the cup holder area?
I just meant this:
If you look carefully, you can see the "Cable routing" label above the USB plugs.
Not very elegant.
i keep mine short. my phone (rubbery case) sits nicely either on top of the cup holder cover or if i have cups in there it'll pull out further towards the little storage (ash tray) area and the usb cable stays straight along the edge of the centre console.
