Hi,

just had a car serviced (oil change only, and of course software update of some sort). First time since then on highway, set CC to a speed and when trying to increase or decrease speed, quick press on +/- only moves it by one 1km/h, not by 5km/h how it used.

I assume their software update, messed something up. I played with the buttons involving CC, but am not able to make it behave how it used to. I am busy and not exactly having time to go back to the dealer ... so on an off-chance anybody with the same problem was able to make it behave without a dealer? Like miraculously pressing buttons in a confusing order? ... LOL

Thanks

It's likely the update. I've noticed the same difference when driving newer loaners. I definitely prefer the old system's function.

Crap ... so can I expect, that they will refuse to put it back?

Sounds like I will have to squeeze them. I definitely want it the way it was. It's pretty annoying right now ... I feel like a clicking maniac.

I like the flexibility of the old... off throttle it's +/- 5mph or kph(?); on throttle, it's +/- 1. Something I haven't tried, if you hold the +/- button will it scroll up or down or do you just gain or lose 1?

The manual says +/- 5 mph or 8 km/h ... but my car always did +/- 5 km/h (I am in Canada, so 5 km/h makes sense, a lot more than 8 km/h ... LOL). I suspect the manual was a shot across the spectrum of countries and got it wrong, since a number like that would never make sense ....

Anyway, after the change it just moves by 1km/h regardless how long you hold the buttons for. Holding a button down means the speed number keeps rising with a significant rubber band effect to it, so it's starts rising faster after a short time .... but it's useless. Why do they always have to screw around with the good function, but never fix the wrong one or lacking one's (close all windows and sunroof by a remote ....)???

Also, not sure what you mean by off-throttle. The buttons +/- are always touched in on-throttle position. Perhaps you meant on-throttle by the computer vs on-throttle by myself?

It is funny - mine is +/-1mph. I had a loaner the other day which had adaptive cruise control, and that one did +/- 5mph - I assumed that with ACC the behavior was slightly different.

Exactly. By on throttle, I was referring to the manual application of the pedal.

Good point. Our has ACC.

I never try to press +/- and throttle pedal at the same time .... it sort of doesn't make sense doing it. I mean except for the very first time when you set the speed up, not while you are travelling at set speed ... you either press +/- or take over with pedal, never both at the same time. Anyway, it might be just semantics of writing, but we mean the same thing.

Just a comment... Took my '14 in a little while back to get the USB map thing done, and after that my cruise changed to +/- 1, used to be +/- nearest 5. In other words, if I had it set to 56 and did a +, it would go to 60. No solution, just thought I'd chime in. Personally, I did prefer the old way.

I'll telling them to not perform any software update on my car when i take it in. Thanks for the heads-up.

Isn't there a long press / short press differentiation with this thing?
Curious about this too. I actually hate the round-up-to-nearest-5mph-increment adjustment. Sometimes a man just wants to go 72mph in a 65 to avoid tickets.

Me too. I prefer the +/- ONE per push. To each his own.

With the +/- 5 function, if you tap, you get 5mph increments; if you hold, it scrolls in 1mph. Couldn't ask for more.
