had the same issue when they replaced my IGM take it back in and have them recalibrate the IGM, it fixed my problem .

mind you I just had the error, everything in the car worked fine, including the hybrid system.

I just had the problem this weekend also. I was 70 miles away from the closest dealer and on vacation. Error cleared after charging it a bit and waiting overnight. Car was working correctly the whole time. Will see what the dealer comes up with during the service appt.

I too have had this problem here in the UK.

After a dozen trips or so to the dealer, the problem has finally got resolved.

My advice to you is not to get fobbed off by any talk of a "software upgrade". This is not a SOFTWARE problem in spite of what the dealer will likely tell you.

After multiple "software upgrades on my car and at my insistence, the IGM module got changed under warranty and , hey presto, no more error messages!

Bear in mind that the T8 does not have an alternator to charge your 12 V battery, therefore whenever the Hybrid system fails , your 12 V battery is not being recharged and will deplete faster than you can imagine.

Your are very likely to be left on the roadside as the car will go into limp mode.

Admittedly, the module costs several thousand quid and your dealer will try very hard not to change in it.

Good luck.

Endee,

Thanks for sharing. Yes they did in fact claim it needed a software patch to resolve the hybrid system failure. Its been over 3 weeks at the shop so far with no communication from the dealer whatsoever except for when I called to ask at week 2. Interestingly, this is not the first time I've had to take the car in for dashboard alerts. Within days of purchase, the dashboard screen began to show a lit engine block icon. The dealer fixed that, but later it came back. They fixed it again. Now the hybrid system failure message. The car had a couple thousand miles on it when I bought it "new" from the dealer.

There was a recall on the T8's ( faulty IGM module)with certain VIN numbers. Mine was not on that recall , however the module in mine had to be changed as I said earlier. I suppose your car was not recalled.

I'm going to check again, but I think my IGM actually was part of the recall and was switched out a few months ago.

Yes, I got the message Friday, drove to the dealer service department and was told because of staff shortages I would have to bring it in Thursday, Aug 10.
What is the IGM?
Inverter generator module, the silver item under the hood with the high voltage orange cables connected to it.

My concern is that these problems with the IGM etc may have taken a permanent toll on the life of the battery, or perhaps on other components. Is there any way to test whether the battery has suffered ?
