Has anyone made a large accelerator pedal for traditional heel throttle blip? I guess I am just going to get a shop to make one out of aluminium and put some anti slip tape (nothing fancy)

Yep, I got an extended pedal that's about 1" wider than the traditional pedal. Works great for both heel 'n toe and traditional use.

How about several inches longer (like 3 or 4 more)
If you extend the length, you will need to mount it on a hinge otherwise, it will hit the carpet/floor before you get to full throttle...

Perhaps you have very small feet?

Seriously though, if there is demand I cen get a set of custom sized gas pedals for y'all. Just let me know...

Re: Has anyone made a large accelerator pedal (Helmut Ranff)

Helmut...on a serious note. You'll probably hurt your self with that design. I could imagine you mashing the gas only for it not to come up because the bottom half is jamed in the carpet or in the floor board.

Isn't there a way you could hing the bottom of the plate with some arms connect to the peddal? I would think that would be safer than just bolting something to the peddel.

Re: Has anyone made a large accelerator pedal (KillerB)

Yeah that picture is from an M5 and is very similar their OEM. It has a black
hing in the bottom. I guess I will just make a similiar design

I thought I would ask to see if someone has already done it. I guess I will be the first

I love the big pedal - definitely go for it!

In the Cooper S:

Just feels like you have a lot more pedal control this way... http://********************/smile/emthup.gif http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Has anyone made a large accelerator pedal (Sue Esponte)

No, I just want to make BMW racing style pedals or more like Porsche accelerator

Need to be able to heel the pedal to downshift http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Has anyone made a large accelerator pedal (Helmut Ranff)

The true old heel/toe method seems somewhat dead. Even in purpose-built race cars they now use the left/right side of right foot technique. I have tried both in various cars and find it easy to threshold brake with the nouveau style. To that end, I changed my pedals to these:
