So I bought the rear sport bumper from viva and I'm trying to do a quad exhaust setup.... On there website they sell the matching right side exhaust cutout to do a dual exhaust however it says it will only fit an 04 SR... So I guess my question is will it work/fit on my 07 or is it truly only for the 04? For some reason I thought it would work on the 05+ models as we'll... ???
Thanks!!!

Would like some insight on this one. Never was a fan of the factory body kit, but always wanted the VST body kit w/o the crazy pricetag after importing it from Japan...now I have some ideas as to what I'd like to do and it involves dual exhaust. So, how does one accomplish this with the 2005+ rear valance? I.e., if I bought the lower rear factory sport valance for my '07, is there an appropriate exhaust cut-out piece to install (like the CFW piece that Viva sells) on the passenger side or does it have to be entirely custom? I don't understand what's different for the '04 vs '05+.... perhaps the '04 pops out where the other doesn't?

Ok. I'm. best to answer this since i've had both versions(and heavily modified both) of the rear bumper and rear sport kits for quad exhaust.

Several misconceptions here. The 04s are different as the skirt apron that simply goes on top of the stock bumper. The original OEM 04 rear sport kit comprises of a lower valance/skirt that has detachable exhaust panels. Each panel is riveted on with pop rivets. There are 2 panels, the exhaust on the left, and a blank on the right.

The 05-07 sport valance is a lower skirt that is installed by removing the stock lower valance via the tabs. The Sport skirt is entirely one piece, and shaped similar the the 04, but the panels are non-removable.

The other option is to simply modify the rear skirt with body work and simply cut out the sport valance to fit your quad setup.

To install the VIVA exhaust panels on an 05-07 bumper, some custom work will be necessary to cut out existing panel and remove the exact shape and the tab areas to allow for the VIVA exhaust panel to be placed in the same spot, the panel would then be rivetted in place.

Got it, so seems that the least involved method would be to get the '05+ lower valance and Viva exhaust panel and let a body shop properly fit it.

It's likely the most costly as well if you're into details, you may want to get the exhaust panel as well and have that fitted the same way so that both sides are symmetrical.
The least expensive is to simply cut the skirt and get a body shop to cut and shape a hole similar to the exhaust side.
Both would be quite involved depending on how much you want to make it look OEM.

Are you saying passenger side panel will not look like OEM driver side so best to get both L&R exhaust panels? My presumption (and perhaps not accurate) is that the passenger side panel is modeled after the driver side so it will look the same.... maybe not the case?

It will not look exactly the same on both sides. Here's why: Since the OEM driver side exhaust exit is molded into the bumper valance, there are no large gaps between the panel and the exhaust trim, it's virtually is the bumper and the seams between the panel are fake.
Because you are cutting the passenger side to fit the exhaust panel, but panel will not fit exact, there will be seams or gaps between the bumper and the panel (like those on the 04 even though it was designed that way, you'll need to see a 2004 sport kit in person to know what i mean). Ontop of that, the VIVA panel would sit ontop of the valance so the panel may protrude from the valance itself, no matter how well the panel is fitted/rivet-ted on. These are small details but more than likely will be noticeable to anyone that has a keen eye.

See this link for photos of the 2004 panels

I get that - thanks. Keep in mind that I don't currently have the Sport kit and am entirely going off pictures online so difficult to see the details.

Here's what I see on an '06...

And then you have Chase's '04 which looks as if he blended the panels into the valance...

The more I think about it, it may be easiest to cut out the '05+ panel and have a body shop shape the cut edges to match the driver side factory cut-out.

Yep. Difficult to tell from pictures as the resemblance between the years is small. The 05+ valance was modelled off the 04, so the visual differences are small. You really have to look for it, most people can't even tell the difference between an 04 and an 05+ body kit.

As to the easiest way, that's exactly how i did mine. In fact since both sides needed modding(due to my wider tips) it made it easier to mirror the 2 sides without needing to replicate the OEM bevelling.

Here's my rear setup.

Now that calls for.... Nice azz!

What decklid spoiler is that?

And did you do the twin Magnaflows like Chase or something different? I'm on the fence about which tips to go with but that just looks mean. I like it a lot!

I did my exhaust before Chase did. I believe he took some ideas from me. Yes, i'm running 2 magnaflows with 1 resonator to reduce drone.

Spoiler is CFworks PCC Spoiler FRP painted(same one that Viva sells currently)

Very nice indeed. I'm currently leaning towards a Y pipe off my existing IPD catback so I can preserve that and the sound.... maybe with an adjustable baffle in that pipe since it would tee off prior to the muffler. I've considered the Borla setup though. Do you get much drone with the resonator? Would love to know where you sourced those tips. Not saying that's what I'm doing, but weighing all options.

Thanks on the spoiler... I've been eyeing that one as well. Time to give my R a fresh look. I love the clean factory non body kit look, but after exactly 10 years of ownership, it needs a facelift!
