I am building a storage platform for a 1800S engine and transmission. Anyone out there know the engine and/or transmission weights? I read somewhere that the engine alone weighed about 345 pounds. --TIA

That sounds pretty close. I'd say plan for 500 lbs total. A decent surplus oak shipping pallet with some blocks at the front engine mount brackets and a strap around the bellhousing/transmission joint is what I've done in the past.
OK. Thanks guys. I wanted to make sure the wheels I get will support the weight. The ones I'm looking at are rated at 225 lbs each for a total of 900 lbs. That should cover it. --Regards and Happy New Year
