I'm getting ready for my first OSD pick up (XC90) and I'm a bit confused about to use of the navigation system while there. I've read that OSD vehicles come preloaded with US maps only and several posters recommend bringing a portable GPS unit. Others mentioned that you can download a Europe map onto a USB stick and upload it yourself after taking delivery of the vehicle. This Volvo website looks to be the right place to do that:

My question is, if I do this, do I also need to provide the XC90 connection to a data service -- e.g. tethered WiFi through my cell phone using a prepaid SIM card inserted directly into the XC90 SIM port or will the maps and the navigation function work without additional provisioning for data?
Thank you.
