Hi - I am just about to pick up our new XC90 and was looking for suggestions for all weather, well fitted floor mats and a cargo mat for this 2016 XC90. Any recommendations?

thanks
I personally plan on going with the Weather Tech Digital Fit mats. I have them in my F150 and they have been fantastic. I have tracked more than enough mud/dirt/water and etc. on them and I just pull them out, rinse them off, and let them dry. I will be ordering the 1st and 2nd rows and the big mat for the back since I will never use the 3rd row seating.

I have the Volvo rubber mats in all 3 rows as well as the 3-piece cargo area mat. They fit perfectly and work well for me.

I think the Volvo rubber mats are really good. They are for all three rows ans fit perfectly. Also it fits so well its almost creating a "seal" around the mat. Also I really like how the second row is three pieces to cover the center tunnel instead of two pieces like from BMW or Mercedes. Also the trunk is three pieces so you have the option to still have a mat when the 3rd row is up.

If you live in a snowy climate, one of the things I really dislike about the Weathertech digital fit type liners is that water pools up in them and has nothing to contain it. Hence you end up with water sloshing around in the car as you drive, and you end up trying to remove a mat full of water to dump out. The Volvo mat has a heavy absorbent pad that soaks up most of that melt, and deep ridges to minimize the movement of what it can't absorb immediately.

The Volvo all weather mats are great. We just purchased first/second row since we rarely use the third row. I'm not a big fan of the 3-piece cargo mat. The material seems pretty flimsy to me (and has some inexplicable deep gouges already). They are fairly lightweight and have an inferior system for locking together so they tend to slide around and detach a fair bit under normal use. I think this product is a bit of a fail on Volvo's part. I would have preferred the same material that is used for the floor mats...it would be more durable and much less prone to sliding.

Totally agree with the trunk mats, I thought it was kinda cheap and flimsy. The first and second row mats seemed much sturdier.

Volvo rubber mats; they are tastefully designed, fit your car like glove and are not bulky-looking like some other aftermarket brands.

Floor Mats for car when 2nd row seats are down.

We are driving our MY2016 with the 2nd row seats folded down most of the time and are looking for a floor mat that will cover the back of the seats when the car is in that configuration. We already have the Volvo mats that cover the area from the folded 3rd row seats all the way to the back door. Has anyone found a "premade" floor mat set that will do the trick?

Fair enough for the Weathertech.

Edit: The Volvo sides seems high enough to prevent the salt stain on the cars carpet? But for some reason they don't seem as high for the passenger side. Also the absorbent pad you speak of is only on the driver side. I do not know for you guys but I don't carry my wife in my arms when getting in the car. Her boots are as dirty as mine. ;)

Having said that, from what most here are saying, I do prefer Volvo's vs the plastic feel of the other aftermarkets. But for the cargo this is another matter. Maybe get the 2 part Volvo plastic cargo mat and leave one peace at home if using the third row... Less parts sliding around.

Here is another solution I have been eyeing. They don't have any for the XC90 yet (I have sent an email inquiring) but they sure look nice. Reviews are good but not as durable as Volvo's it seems. Maybe just for the cargo? For Canada we can get them through Costco online.

That has been my experience as well.........

I agree the Volvo all-weather mats are very nice. Yes, the cargo area mat does slide a bit.

Our second row mat set (Volvo OEM) came with 3 pieces and I don't know how the piece for the center seat fits. Can anyone help me with that? Do the mats fit differently on a T8 vs a T6?

Do you have a T8 or a T6? On the T6, the center piece is joined to the two side pieces via an interlocking ridge-and-groove system built into the edges of the mats.

I suppose applying this stuff to the underside of the cargo area mats might help prevent them from sliding:

Same here. I also received the cloth Volvo mats, which are also nice - but the rubber ones just seem to make more sense for this vehicle. They fit well and look great.
