hi, quick question, my 2011 did not have a spare. I just purchased a volvo 16 inch spare on craigslist. The spare doesn't seem to have a spot to lay flat. My jack kit takes up some of the space in the trunk, so the spare can't lay flat. Can someone please post a picture of their C70 with the spare mounted correctly. I did not get the volvo bag. Are there any straps or bolts to keep the spare from moving? thanks, appreciate anyones advice and pictures

I am uncertain what you mean by "flat". I have a 2011 and I, too, bought a spare. The compact spare I bought fits in the round well but stands a bit proud of the surrounding trunk floor. I have no problem with movement or sound but I have stuffed some other rags, short tow chain, cleaning cloths and the stuff I usually keep in my car trunk. It all fits snug there. The jack fits under the spare with no trouble. I removed the jack from the foam form fit "box" it came in. The spare itself lies flat. Anything laid on the spare is not flat to the surrounding surface of the trunk, but up an inch or so.

that's it, my jack is still in the foam form fit box, didn't think to remove it, will go and remove the foam box, wish there was a way to keep the jack somewhere else but will put it under the tire and lay the tire on top, and maybe try a bungee cord to keep it snug, thanks

I hated to spend the money, but for my wife's 2011 C70 I bought the spare tire, jack and tool kit, and the styrofoam insert for the tools and jack to set inside the tire. And I can't forget the insanely overpriced bag to put it all in.
I purchased these items from Oak Park Volvo in Chicago. They have a great web site for parts purchases. (Volvopartswebstore.com). It all fits down nicely in the tire well.....convertible weather is almost here!

Quick question: if I get 19" wheels, can I still use a 16" spare or should I buy a larger one? I'd like to get one that will fit snug in the trunk and doesn't take up a lot of space. Somebody is offering the oem one on here but before I buy it, I'd like some insurance that it fits snug. Pics would be great!
