I have an 04 V70R that has been at the dealer it whole life and my coolant is green. I am about to do the timing belt and water pump and just got volvo coolant and it looks blue WTF??
I use distilled water.Do you guys dilute it with distilled water or just tap?
Cool Thanks bud.Yes the volvo coolant was green few years ago and they switched to a blue coolant. I had bought some originally to top off the coolant on my car. When I started to service my car myself and use the old container alongside a new one, I noticed the difference of color. I am the original owner, so I may have had the old container for 5 years or more, I don't really remember.
Correction. No crap is added that would cause corrosion, only the dissolved minerals naturally found in regular water would cause corrosion, so distilling is removing what is naturally present. What is added is Fluoride, Ammonia, Chlorine, and other chemicals to prevent the growth of microbes...tasty.distilled. regular water corrodes because all of the added crap.
Oh my bad on that one i just no the minerals cause corrosion and the distilled doesn't have them. thought they added more to the water haha im a dummy.Correction. While looking up approved coolant a while back, I've heard a lot of suggestion for Zerex G-05 as it's compatible with Volvo's coolant system. I've bought some for myself and I've had no problems. It comes concentrated and pre-mixed.
Blue is long life volvo oem. The only higher quality long life coolant available is the pink mercedes coolant.I have an 04 V70R that has been at the dealer it whole life and my coolant is green. I am about to do the timing belt and water pump and just got volvo coolant and it looks blue WTF??
