I disconnected my battery after waiting the 10 mins after shutting the car off and when I reconnected it my clock now only shows --:--. I tried turning the adjustment plastic knob both directions and nothing happens. I used the power lock/unlock and everything else works just fine. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery two more times and I can't get the clock to go back to numbers. It worked just fine before I disconnected the battery. I've tried every method I could find on the internet with the key at various positions in the ignition and nothing helps. Arrrgh.

I really don't want to take it to the dealership and have them soak me to fix it. Would I be able to reset it somehow if I had DICE/VIVA? I tired searching the forums on Volvo sites and Googling but have not been successful. Does anyone know how I might fix this issue? Thank you.

Did you turn the knob hard enough? It makes this little click once it switches. Then just hold and set your clock. Sweaty fingers dont help as well.

Woah there pirate, take a deep breath....we're talking about a clock here.

That being said, there's two plastic knobs. Hold the right on clockwise to advance the time correction.

Prepare yourself for a finger cramp.

I'm just going to suggest practicing the whole clock reset thing a few more times before going onto any other mods you might find on this site - like checking tire pressure, or adjusting the treble/bass, much less EBD removal!

Thanks for the help. I was able to get it reset. Apparently I was to too afraid of breaking off the little plastic knob. Once I turned the right post clockwise until it clicked it worked. Much appreciated.

This poor kid. LOL

I actually prefer to keep the --:-- on there. I've been resetting a lot though with my troubleshooting as well as builds so it's more convenient to have it on the HU, which has it's own CMOS to store date and time data.

This is too funny

Yes, you would need DICE/VIDA to check for blinker fluid levels. :partywave:
I found a good one the other day. I had this terrible whine and I found my OTE Actuator....Little bastard is hard to find.

OK here's a semi-legitimate one - started my caR after picking up my daughter and no stereo and no power plugs (aka cigar lighters). Restarted several times and checked/replaced the fuse - no luck (???)

P.S.: Everything else seems just fine.

I feel like I'm reading the GMC Acadia forum for my wife's vehicle... over there are a bunch of yoyo's. (Stickied thread is how to change air filter)

Another good one was 'replace rear wiper blade' which the individual purchased from the dealer.
