Drove the car to Nags Head this weekend and about 3/4 of the way there when I got into some 45MPH zones, I noticed a clunking when I would let off the throttle only. It goes away when under load and when braking. Only when letting off the throttle would it make the sound. Sounded like it is coming from the front passenger side. When I pulled into a parking lot to check, I could still hear it even at about 5mph. Got out to inspect and couldn't find any obvious signs. After a short bit, it seemed to go away but then came back when I got to Nags Head. Has been intermittent ever since. I also noticed some clunking noises when going over a bump leaving the parking lot too when I first heard it. Sounded almost like a bad end link etc but they are good. I double checked and replaced all 4 about 8 months ago... The noise doesn't seem to be a wheel bearing either as it doesn't change when swerving from left to right. My best guess would be the C/V axle but not sure what to check as it's been a long time since I had anything with FWD axles. Also curious if there are any other usual suspects to check. I also noticed that my yellow poly engine mount bushing is split after less than a year. I cannot recall if I got it from Viva or IPD as neither site shows a yellow option but I know I got it from one or the other. Not thinking the noise is related but I suppose it could be..
