If you had to start over with a new tune right now, which would it be?

So it's been a couple months I think since the wave of GB's, and since there is interest brewing for another GB on Autotech tunes, I thought I would open up discussion here. I know this has been discussed before, but I am specifically hoping for guys who got in on the fairly recent group buys to weigh in with their experiences, but if you've had yours for awhile I know you have good, constructive info to share as well.

Prices as I understand them right now - please correct me if I'm wrong:
Autotech (Elevate) = $630 with group buy
IPD ecu flash = $695 (flash only)
Rica = $895 (one member said that EST would give a 10% discount, which would make it $805.50)

Please post your dyno charts / numbers, and your experiences (likes, dislikes) with your current (or past) tune.
 
I've got a 2007 GT, and when I bought the Autotech Tune, my car was stock. The difference was astounding. The amount that tune does for your engine, in terms of making it breath better, is just amazing. Now that I've done some additional modding, Elevate exhaust, springs, and sways, the car feels complete. It just is a pleasure to drive. I'd do the autotech tune again in a heartbeat and is my strong recommendation for those looking for a tune.
 
I had IDP stage 2 on my 01 T5M and have autotech on my 04 R MT. They both made an immediate and dramatic improvement in performance. Since the tunes were on different cars I can't really say one performed better than the other

Peter @ autotech was great in helping me diagnose a overly tweaked wastegate that only became apparent after I installed the autotech tune.

I never had any issues with my IPD tune that needed support but I have received outstanding support from the IPD guys on other things, they are great to work with.

I would highly recommend either of these companies if you are in the market for a tune. The main differentiator is the IPD tune gives you the option of removing the torque limiter on 04 & 05 GT's. If I had one of those I would only consider the IPD tune
 
I had the Rica Stage 2 tune through Viva on my second R. Used it along with DP, exhaust, intake, FMIC, and the car really screamed.

Contact George @ Viva, tell him what someone else is pricing a Rica tune at, and see what he has to say :)
 
Happy with my IPD/MTE tune. It's a bit of a problem if you want to use the softloader, as it needs to run under Win XP (or a virtual machine w/XP in Vista, or the free XP virtual machine ability in Win 7 Ultimate). It is desirable to be able to re-flash, datalog, or read and clear codes with the softloader software, which with the tune of your choice (stage 1/2) is $895.
 
I bought the autotech tune with the last GB and before I flashed the tune I had done DP, EST catback, k&N, and I installed IPD's CAI the night I tuned the car. I must say I am very pleased with autotech's tune, when I took the first few test drives I kept spiking somewhere around 25 psi or higher (my gauge only goes to 25) and I was blowing my quick reaction line right off the "T" connector but a few zip-ties fixed that. After the ECU re-learned itself I pull a strong 19-20 psi that stays rock solid under WOT and spikes to 22-23 psi. Don from elevate and peter from autotech were both very helpful with any questions I had and over all I am very happy with their product. Side note I did install a viva HD CBV after tune but I didn't notice much of a difference in boost accept for the louder "woosh" when letting off under boost. I am sry I have no dyno info on my tuned or stock setup however.
 
I like my RICA tune, but the new softloader caused some problems. The SRS airbag warning came on. They fixed this ina tune update, but when I tried to load the update, it bricked my soft loader (went to 71% and then froze). I sent it to george, who sent it to Kalle at Rica. George and I have heard NOTHING since then. This was in May.

It also hesitates around 3000-3500 rpm if i floor it, but I'm probably due for plugs.
 
As there is talk of a new GB on the elevate tune, has anyone done that as their first mod? If so, any problems runing the extra juice to an other wise stock car? While doing a CAI would not be a huge issue, doing the tune with that, a DP and an exhaust is beyond my pocket at this time. I will be piecing the mods in as I go in the real world, unfortunately.

I just hate to see the GB comeback and not jump savings of that amount for a well reviewed and growing popular tune. And power to $ ratio it is very hard to beat a tune for that prupose.

For me, RICA FTW!

The reasons I chose RICA were the cost (GB this last year), the ease of tune-ability (no need to drag your computer out to the garage), the cost of future tunes and the ability for torque delete.

Notes regarding the tune, the car is just randy afterward, its nuts. Though I did have a problem the iSoftloader not getting power from the OBDII port, after a few emails from ViVA and RICA, they sent another cable to trouble shoot. The cable didn't fix it so RICA is sending me a new iSoftloader. Oh, the workaround I used to get the car tuned was to use my laptop as a power supply for the loader.
 
I guess besides info on extra features, we won't know anything about how well one performs over the other since its not likely that someone would own both. Anyone have before and after dyno sheets or x to y times?

RICA Stage 1 slightly out-performs BSR. RICA S2 is a beast. Did back to back testing on a test car with Stock, BSR, RICA S1 and RICA S2 a few months ago, did a whole post and write up.
