I have an 05 s60 2.5T and it has 65xxx miles. On xmas day, I replaced my spark plugs with OEM (volvo) plugs, and replaced my intake and turbo hose with IPD hoses. I drove to a few family events that day, and the car drove fine. Last night on my way to the comedy club, my car sounded like it would almost die, sorta like a sputter. RPMs, however, did not drop.

Now, when I was replacing my plugs, I did notice a little bit of oil on 2 of them. I know that isn't good. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Maybe a seal is worn or something like that?

I don't have any CELS either, just the intermittent sputtering......To describe it a little better....You know how if you listen to your exhuast and its a constant sound? well my exhaust is constant except for the sputter every 20 -30 seconds give or take a few. Also, once again, RPMS do NOT drop.

Any help is appreciated!

hose clamps are tight......

I was hoping not to take off the OTE pipe, spark plug cover, etc, since its a PITA but I guess its the easiest thing to check. I would figure if the coil packs weren't pushed down all the way that it would def. cause a CEL. No?

yeah check and make sure you pushed the wires down right and check the gap on the plugs. i ran some denso's from ipd and they did that so i went back to volvo plugs. i heard those ipd hoses are a ya know to put on maybe it backed off a bit. just curious why did you replace the end hoses and not replace the whole ote with a custom one. i priced it out and it's not too much more than the ipd hoses.

Is there oil near the engine oil cap? I replaced my engine oil cap seal and all the oil on & around the plugs disappeared

I actually have a ton of gaskets, and every time I do an oil change, or every 2, I replace the gasket so there is NO oil around the cap.....

Time to do your PCV
