Volvo USA Posts Best October Sales Since 2004

Volvo USA has just reported sales up a whopping 20.2 percent for October, which makes this the company’s best October in 15 years.

That’s right, with 8,807 vehicles sold last month, that’s the highest sales level Volvo has hit in October since 2004. When the company offered up the S40, very old S60 and V70, the C70, and the S80. Back then, the XC70 was a wagon, and the XC90 was in just its second year.

This year, the lineup looks much different thanks to the death of small cars, more crossovers, and a whole lot of Polestar Engineered fun. This month, the best seller was the XC90 with 2,720 sales up 18.2 percent from last year, followed closely by the XC60 with 2,825 and the S60 at 2,193 units sold.

“Our lineup continues to impress American buyers. Volvo Cars has posted a sales gain in twenty of the last twenty-one months.” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO, Volvo Car USA & Senior Vice President Americas.

Volvo USA sales for the year are currently at 86,239 vehicles, up 6.1 percent year to date over 2019. It’s nearing the end of its best year for sales since 2007, on track to top 100,000 for the year.
