Polestar today announced that pricing for the Polestar 2 would start at $59,900, lower than initially targeted in order to allow it to apply for state incentives in important markets.
“We are quite enthusiastic to announce the U.S. pricing for the Polestar 2,” said Gregor Hembrough, Head of Polestar USA. “The MSRP is lower than we originally targeted, and will be extended to all of our current reservation holders. “With an online purchase option, lower pricing, considerable tax incentives, and production already underway, the Polestar 2 is well positioned for a successful entry into the U.S. market.”
Sitting below the incentives threshold in states like California and New York, customers should be able to apply rebates of roughly $2,000 to the price of the car in certain states, and up to $9,500 when federal incentives are applied, too.
Polestar also announces option pricing for the Polestar 2 as follows:
- Performance Pack: $5,000
- Nappa Leather Interior: $4,000
- 20-Inch Alloy Wheels: $1,200
- Metallic Paint Colors: $1,200
Making 408 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque, the Polestar 2 comes with AWD and considerable (though not yet announced) range. Available in all 50 states, you can go to polestar.com to shop for your very own car. Deliveries are expected to start this summer.
