Check Out the Google HMI System in the New Polestar 2

The Polestar 2 will have a new Google-developed HMI system (that stands for Human Macine Interface, just in case you didn’t know) for the upcoming new Polestar 2 electric compact sedan.

Polestar released a smartphone and tablet app today that allows you preview the new HMI interface. You can access and download the app using the link in the tweet below if you’re interested, but we had trouble getting it to install on our smartphone.

As a previous teaser of the Tesla Model 3 -baiting Polestar 2 revealed, the compact electric sedan will feature a single LED taillight bar (those are so fetch right now). Polestar released a new teaser for the car today as well (below) that shows a zoomed-in view of the taillight.

A 400 hp version of the Polestar 2 is expected to be available eventually. The sedan should also have a pure electric range of around 300 miles, although it’s not clear if all versions will have this amount of range, or if short or long range batteries will be offered.

Like the Polestar 1, the Polestar 2 will be a premium product that makes use of high-end materials both inside and out. A price in the $40,000 – $50,000 is expected.

Polestar says “additional information about the interface as well as the Polestar 2 will be available in the coming weeks,” so check back for more details on this new EV shortly.
