What the heck is that!

That is the a common response we get from people when they first see the ipd XC60 R Design SEMA Concept. I have to admit that even the ipd staff was a little skeptical of the project proposal in the beginning, wondering how we would make the connection between a Swedish car manufacturer, one of the USA’s oldest car insurance companies and the extreme sport of Supercross!

The SEMA show (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) is one of the largest aftermarket automotive performance parts and accessory shows in the world. The week long show takes place annually during the first week of November at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Ipd has been attending the show for nearly 30 years and it’s where we source some of our performance parts and network with the industry’s leading performance parts manufacturers from all over the world.

The show is also a great place for car manufacturers to show off their new performance models and partner with the most respected aftermarket tuning and accessory specialists in the world. We have worked with Volvo and many other parts manufacturers over the years building some pretty wild Volvos that were launched at SEMA including the ipd XC60 R Design.

The video below goes into more detail about how and why we built this unusual concept. It’s a little on the long side, but if you’re a Volvo or Extreme Sport enthusiast, you will enjoy it! This video also showcases our commitment to stepping up the quality of our in-house produced videos. Long time ipd Team Member Chris Delano has been working on his video shooting and production skills and you’ll be seeing more of his creative work on our site this year. We are launching a whole new video based program that will bring you a large increase in user-friendly information.

Some of what you can look forward to in the months ahead, are videos focusing on popular “How To” and “Tech Tips” and we are ramping up to produce a whole bunch of short 30-90 second features on our most popular products. Lastly, we’ll also be covering Volvo Club events and other topics of general interest to the Volvo Enthusiast!

Here’s the video:

Enjoy!
