- All-new Volvo XC90: Two ‘world firsts’ in one of the safest cars in the world
- End of an era as Swedish production of Volvo XC90 stops after 12 years
There are a few unicorns within the modern Volvo wagon enthusiast community. A Creme yellow 850 T-5R wagon, a 1998 Saffron V70R, a Laser Blue 2000 V70R, a 2004-2005 Flash Green/Atacama V70R six-speed manual and a 2006-2007 Sonic Blue/Atacama V70R six-speed manual. These highly desired models do not appear often but when they do, it is a reminder that Volvo has made several unique and enthusiast oriented wagons.
Introduced to the U.S. as a 2004 model, the V70R delivered 300-horsepower engine, four-piston Brembo brakes, a six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox or five-speed automatic known as Geartronic. Volvo’s Four-C active suspension system provide driver’s with three suspension options, Comfort, Sport, Advance. Flash Green Metallic (Color Code 457) was the $650 premium color option for 2004 and 2005 and the Atacama (orange) leather a $1,500 option.
Today’s Find of the Day is an incredible example with just under 6,700 miles. While our only gripe is that is an automatic transmission, this is truly a rare V70R that would look great at any Cars and Coffee event and compliment any Volvo collection. We love that it has a laminated Monroney sticker which adds to the allure of this rare example. Within the first 24hrs of being posted on eBay, the price has climbed to $14,000USD.
