Jamie Kitman Defends the Station Wagon in Automobile Magazine Column

We know Jamie Kitman and he's a great guy with a serious passion for all things sensible, even if his odd collection of unreliable British automobiles makes no sense at all. And in the last issue of Automobile, Kitman took the current station wagon climate in the US head on in a pretty interesting read. His argument might not be bulletproof, but it's an interesting perspective. He argues that the end of the line here for vehicles like the Volvo V70 or the BMW 5-series wagon can't be blamed just on dead sales, but rather on a lack of marketing and too high of incentives being placed on crossovers. When those larger, taller vehicles are marketed and sold for lower prices, it's hard to move wagons off of lots. We think the truth probably lies in the middle somewhere.

Regardless of your own opinion about wagons, the column is worth reading, and is now available online over at Automobilemag.com.
