Tenneco’s new high performance Continuously Controlled Electronic Suspension (CES) shock absorbers are being supplied as optional components of the new Volvo XC60.

Designed to achieve optimal balance between ride comfort and handling, the CES system changes the vehicle’s ride by continuously adjusting the shock absorber damping levels to driver inputs, road conditions and vehicle dynamics like speed and cornering.

Karel Van Bael, Vice President and General Manager, Tenneco Europe OE Ride Control, said Tenneco had enjoyed a long history with the Volvo brand.

“Volvo, like Tenneco, has long been committed to providing a superior ride for drivers of its vehicles,” Karel said.

“Ride and handing performance are among the top influencers for consumers when buying a vehicle.

“Tenneco’s reputation for helping vehicle manufacturers deliver enhanced ride and handling has driven greater demand for our high performance suspension systems like the electronic CES shock absorbers.”

Since 2003 Tenneco has expanded its share of the electronic suspension market supplying various Ford, Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, and VW models with the CES product.

Tenneco is the world’s largest producer and marketer of ride control and exhausts systems and products. Tenneco manufactures products under the Monroe, Walker and Lukey brands at its facilities in Clovelly Park and O’Sullivan’s Beach, Adelaide.
