Welcome to the all-new Swedespeed.com. Our staff has been hard at work redesigning the website from the ground up, adding new features and planning even more. With the launch of the all-new V50 this week in Bologna, Italy, Volvo clearly seems to be entering an exciting new phase of its existence. We’re happy to be along for the ride.
In case you couldn’t tell, we decided to go for more of a Scandinavian look to the site. “Less is more” design is characteristic of the Swedish lifestyle and can be easily seen in companies like Volvo and IKEA. As much as we liked our old blue and yellow theme, it just seemed like time for a fresh start. We believe we’ve achieved the look and feel without being too close to Volvo’s own designs. We’d love to hear your impressions in our discussion forums.
Once you’ve had a chance to check out the new V50, feel free to browse around the new website. We’ll be adding all of the old news archives, features and more over the next few weeks.
A new dynamic article management system will make all of our articles much more easily searched for readers. Additionally, this will allow us to put up more content and in a significantly shorter time. This includes news AND features.
If you think you know a story or technical procedure that has to do with Volvo and needs to be told, please feel free to contact our staff. Additionally, if you own a car that you believe would make a good feature on the site, please feel free to submit photos and details to our editorial staff at info@swedespeed.com and we’ll be happy to discuss potential inclusion in our editorial mix. Please remember though, Swedespeed does reserve the right to choose what to include on the website.
