The Tokyo Auto Salon is a bit like the Japanese SEMA. The show is more for custom cars and modifications, than for manufacturers, so you get to see some pretty wild stuff. Sometimes, though, you see something a bit odd and very wonderful, like these Volvo 240 wagons.
Made by the maddeningly mysterious VOLTS, about whom little can be found, these custom 240 woodies are squeaky clean. In fact, clean doesn’t do these things justice. With Sumptuous interiors, Easter egg color schemes, and tasteful modifications, the Custom 240s are a weird combination of Americana and Swediana, but one that we’re very into.
