K-Pax Debuts Limited Edition Volvo C30 GT for Street

Last year K-Pax won the SCCA World Challenge GT series with a pair of S60s and this year, the team decided to expand with a set of C30 race cars. We thought that was cool enough, but the team has just made even greater news. There will soon be a K-Pax C30 for the street, and it was just shown at the Long Beach Grand Prix.
The C30 GT, as it'll be called, is based on the 2011 C30 R-Design, but with some desirable changes in all the right spots. That includes wheels, tires, a high-flow exhaust, brakes, suspension, and adjustable engine software capable of 280 horsepower, all inspired by parts developed for the team's race cars.
Only 500 examples will be produced, each individually numbered. The best news is that the cars will still be fully warrantied for five years or 60,000 miles. They'll be sold through select Volvo dealers in the US starting in July, though the cost has not yet been announced. We expect Volvo itself will release more information soon, and we really hope a hopped-up S60 is on the way as well. For now, the official press release from K-Pax and more photos are below.
K-PAX Performance Cars Introduces New Volvo C30 GT at Long Beach GP
Sunnyvale, California. (Apr. 21, 2011) – K-PAX Performance Cars, the newly formed sister company to K-PAX Racing, the World Challenge GT Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ Champion in 2010, introduced the new Volvo C30 GT K-PAX Racing Edition during the Long Beach Grand Prix this past weekend.
The Volvo C30 GT, which is based upon the C30 R-Design, is a performance package that has been developed by K-PAX Performance Cars for exclusive distribution through Volvos’ retailer network in North America.
The vehicle has strong influences from the newly introduced C30 Race Car that K-PAX Racing campaigns in the Pirelli World Challenge Touring Class. The C30 GT features a revised suspension, brakes, tire & wheel package, high-flow exhaust system and adjustable engine software that can boost power up to 280hp for track days.
Each C30 GT is individually numbered and comes with a full 5-year/60,000 mile factory-matching warranty. Only 500 packages will be made available at select Volvo retailers starting in July 2011.
The display vehicle, C30 GT #001, is currently for sale at Power Volvo South Bay in Torrance, California.
