DETROIT, MICH (June 3, 2013) – The K-PAX Racing team traveled to Detroit Michigan for Rounds 6 and 7 of the Pirelli World Challenge races. The races were part of the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix held on the 2.36 mile street course on beautiful Belle Isle.
Pobst qualified second and finished second in the first race on Saturday. In the second race on Sunday, Pobst qualified second and finished first. Pobst said, “It’s great to get a first and second place but it’s tough at the same time because my teammate Alex Figge had a tough weekend. On the one hand we want to celebrate the win but the team is down a little because we want both cars in the front.” Pobst was referring to Figge’s car hitting the wall after a suspension part broke.
The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix was the sixth and seventh of fourteen races. The next venue is the Lime Rock Grand Prix July 4 thru 6 for Rounds 8 and 9.
Audi and Cadillac are tied for first in the Manufacturers Championship with 52 points followed by Volvo with 41 points.
Pobst moved up to third place in drivers points with 675. Figge remains in sixth with 547 points.
