Ed.When we saw this pop-up on the Facebook, we wanted to know more. The story goes like this: It all started from pure passion for the Swedish brand. Martin a long time Volvo enthusiast (and owner of 142R, 245TiC, 262C, Saab 900T) was looking for a paper model of his favorite 245 station wagon. Searching internet and various modeler boards came up empty. But he managed to befriend one of the most talented and reputable model designers, Mr Lukas Fuczek. Martin knew his Volvo like a palm of his hand - Lukas was able to put the 'three dimensional idea' on paper (literally). Work progressed methodologically, every detail handcrafted, and after nearly 6 months, several prototypes were build. As each prototype iteration was completed the idea started to look like a proper paper replica. Today, official re-seller RetroTurbo is offering this award winning model to the public. If you have not seen this model, it is very impressive inside and out, check it out!

Volvo 200 Series was manufactured in 1974-1993. The Swedish concern sold almost 3 millions units. In its time, they became the symbol of safety among middle-class vehicles around the globe. Still, after the production stopped in mid-1990s, the Volvo 240 held first place in worldwide ranks for cars with the lowest ratio of lethal accidents.

Almost 20 years of manufacturing lead to many changes and liftings of the Swedish car. Today, the Volvo 200 has become a ‘cult’ vehicle and some versions, eg. Volvo 242 GT or Volvo 262c Bertone are a real rarity among collectors. The traditional ‘brick’ is a symbol of durability, reliability and safety – the symbol of the Swedish car industry.
