Traveling to Geneva is always interesting and this year we landed with great anticipation. Volvo announced six "new" models across the range. The Volvo S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 each received a facelift. A public glimpse of the new XC90 will need to wait a few more months. The new designs are contemporary and we enjoyed the hug-appeal of the new sport seats. The cool TFT instrument cluster is an attractive piece of technology with crisp text and graphics.

As we walked the booth, we wondered about the well crafted wood bike. We soon learned about Volvo's Cyclist Detection with full auto brake along with the world-first in-dash, voice-activated Spotify through Sensus Connected Touch. We have been waiting for Volvo to deliver cutting edge infotainment options and both of these technology announcements are very exciting.

There were a few really cool new 1:43 850 Estate model cars made at one of the model car vendors. We will save this for next year's gift guide!

The opportunity to view the stylish V40 R-Design was icing on our Geneva cake.

Like many consumers in the U.S., we look forward to the New York Auto Show and dealer showrooms in the fall for an opportunity to enjoy the 2014 redesign features. Test driving with the paddle shifters will be fun!
