Media days have concluded at the North American International Auto Show, also known as the Detroit Auto show. This event is worthy of the bucket list for auto enthusiasts and it’s a fantastic experience to view manufacturers putting their best marketing foot forward.

The Volvo booth was spacious and inviting with an attractive hardwood floor leading to a two-story enclosure housing a K-Pax World Challenge S60 and the Concept You. The XC60 Hybrid was showcased on an elevated platform. The Hybrid’s interior appeared elegant with the matte white plastic and blue leather upholstery accented with white stiches. The popular crossover utility vehicle looks ready to roll off the assembly line. We hope to see this concept go to production and into dealer showrooms within the next couple of years.

The booth presented the best of each model, sans the S80. A 2013 XC90 R-Design with the full body color coordination, the very attractive C70 Inscription, and the sporty red R-Design versions of the XC60, S60 and C30 added just enough flair around the XC60 Hybrid.

We were fortunate to meet the K-Pax PR team, owner Jim Haughey and driver Randy Pobst. A few candid shots of Randy are in our photo gallery. Volvo’s marketing and communications team did a tremendous job managing the booth and we greatly appreciate the time they scheduled for us to meet with John Maloney. Our interview will be posted soon.

The NAIAS offered many new products from many manufacturers and we were excited to see Volvo have such a strong presence at this leading auto industry event. Sales are rising and we hope Volvo will continue to build on the 2011 momentum with additional product offerings and enhancements.
